Embark on a journey to one of the oldest cities in Georgia, Mtskheta, and discover the historical and religious relics that lie in this UNESCO-listed museum town. The tour starts with a 20-minute drive from Tbilisi to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom of Iberia and headquarters of the Georgian Orthodox Church till this day. There, we’ll visit the local flea market, before making our way to the meeting point of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, where the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral lies. Across the river, perched atop a hill, we’ll find the Jvari Monastery, our next stop.
