Tour Plan
  • Day 1: Arrival to Santiago de Chile

Start this dream journey with the arrival of the largest city in Chile. Our Gotolatam staff will assist you upon arrival and transfer you to your chosen hotel so you can rest. Santiago de Chile, the capital of Chile, is a vibrant destination that promises travelers an unforgettable experience. Located in a valley surrounded by the impressive Andes Mountains, this cosmopolitan metropolis offers a perfect combination of natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and modern comforts.

  • Day 2: Full-day tour to Viña del mar and Valparaiso

Experience the best of Chilean coastal beauty: a full-day tour to Viña del Mar and Valparaíso, which are the two most charming coastal cities in Chile. We are going to start with a 120-kilometer trip along the Pacific Ocean coast, arriving at the port city of Valparaíso, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. Valparaiso is a city that breathes life into its streets. From the moment you step foot into this vibrant coastal town, you are greeted with a kaleidoscope of colors, intriguing street art, and a sense of energy that permeates every corner. The most iconic places to visit are Plaza Sotomayor, the monument to the naval heroes, and the lifts that will take you to the top of the historic hills of Valparaíso. The next stop is Viña del Mar, better known as The Garden City, where you will enjoy visiting the beautiful beaches, the colorful gardens, and the unique pedestrian paths. Here, we are going to slow down our itinerary and give you some free time to relax contemplate the ocean and enjoy a local meal at the shoreline restaurants.

  • Day 3: Flight to Calama from Santiago and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama

After breakfast at your hotel, our Gotolatam team will pick you up and transfer you to Santiago airport for your flight to Calama. Upon arrival, our staff will take you to San Pedro de Atacama on a road trip that takes approximately 3 hours to get to your chosen hotel.

  • Day 4: Half-day moon valley tour

In the afternoon, we will travel 13 kilometers to the western part of the town of San Pedro de Atacama until we arrive at the Valley of the Moon or Valle de la Luna. This place, which is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve, has been declared a sanctuary for nature due to its diverse rock formations made of minerals and sands that have been shaped by the strong wind that blows in this area. A clear example is the Tres Marias and the amphitheater, natural formations that transform this valley into a unique location in the world. The Moon Valley is located on the edge of the Salar de Atacama and has a large number of geological spectacles such as the one we can observe at the Mirador de Kari which has panoramic views that change color as the sun goes down. When the tour ends, we will take you to your hotel.

  • Day 5: Full-day tour of the red stones and lagoons

After you enjoy breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up to start today's tour. We will travel to the Atacama Desert. During the trip, you will be able to observe the flora and fauna of the place as well as the altiplano lagoons on the sides of the road. Once we arrive at our destination, you will be able to observe the oxidized volcanic lava covering the desert rocks and giving them a very particular red color. In the afternoon, we will transfer you back to your hotel so you can spend the night.

  • Day 6: Tatio geysers from San Pedro de Atacama

Very early in the morning, we will start our trip to the El Tatio geothermal field, which is located 70 kilometers away from the town of San Pedro de Atacama. We will arrive before dawn to enjoy the contrasts between the sunlight and the vapors that emerge from the earth. This geothermal field is located at 13000 f.a.s.l. and it is the largest in South America, so you can imagine the spectacular views that you will be able to observe when witnessing the steam vents that reach up to 160 feet high. After this natural and magnificent show, you will enjoy a local breakfast and have free time to explore and take photos of this area. Finally, we will take you back to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
